Guna Molas Tribe White Paper
This NFT art collection is what we believe will be the world's 1st EVER INDIGENOUS-PEOPLE-CREATED NFT art collection, from physical art created by the Guna indigenous people of Panama. The first drop will be several hundred pieces, i.e. high-resolution JPEG photos of physical fabric art pieces). The Guna artists are working on a follow-on collection of 1,000+ pieces.
One of the Guna artists, Josefina Rodríguez Tejada. She learned the molas art when she was just 9 years old in the San Blas (Guna Yala) islands homeland.
The buyer incentive plan which is still being refined is for 1st NFT collection buyers to:
(1) choose framed physical art delivery if over xx paid at mint (or choose physical burning/shredding),
(2) get a 2nd-collection-release NFT free if over xx paid at mint, for the first yy buyers.
(3) every buyer that buys the many NFTs with attribute 'physical art' will also get a 'B-side' photo, where you see the backside of the sewing/applique work - Some are quite interesting and beautiful, more abstract art.

In these photos, you can see some of natural beauty of the Guna homeland, as well as the location on the Caribbean side of Panama, about 4 hours drive from Panama City which is on the Pacific ocean side.
Today, some 40,000 Guna live in villages on about 49 islands out of the approximately 365 islands and cays, of which 49 are inhabited. They have their own indigenous language, along with the necessary use of some Spanish, the main language of Panama.

The Guna used to be called 'Kuna'. They were called this for several decades, but in 2011 the tribe petitioned the Panamanian government to officially recognize them as the Guna. They argued that their native language lacks a “K” sound, and thus their name should change. The government agreed and their name officially became Guna. @ithin their own circles they are known as the Tule (pronounced TOO-lay).
